Booking A Course With Sussex Woodsman.

At Sussex Woodsman, we run our courses a little differently, we realise that the world is a very busy place and people's time is limited, therefore we do not run our courses on set dates, we try, wherever and whenever we can, to accommodate your lifestyle and time constraints, as we feel this allows a level of flexibility not normally found with other providers & educators.

In the first instance we will ask you to provide us with two or three dates that are convenient for you to attend a course on, we will check these against our diary and if we have no prior obligations, then the course can be booked on a date that suits your lifestyle.

We have a maximum limit of six persons on any one course, but are as equally as happy to accept one person as we are a full complement, we also feel that the opportunity to attend a course on your own can be far more comfortable and therefore enjoyable, for people who can be put off attending courses as part of a larger group. Discounts for group or block bookings are available.

To book your place on any of our courses, please either call or email us with the required information as detailed above, then, when a date has been arranged simply visit our downloads section and download the booking form and applicable consent forms. All persons who are under 18 years old on the day of their course must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian, our minimum age limit for courses is 16 years old.

Please complete the forms in full and return them, along with your payment to us at the address shown on the booking form, a non refundable deposit of 25.00 per person is required at the time of booking, with the balance being due on the day of your course.

Please note you will not be confirmed as being on your selected course until your deposit has been received and a written confirmation has been issued to you by Sussex Woodsman.

We reserve the right to postpone and/or cancel courses due to adverse/unsafe weather conditions, in which case you will be offered an alternative date on which to take your course.  Failure to attend a course you have booked may result in the forfeiture of all monies paid, however each case is reviewed individually, if you find you are unable to attend, please advise us as soon as possible, so we can offer the place to someone else and/or try to rebook your course for a later date.  All minors (16 and under) attending a course with Sussex Woodsman must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian.

Foot Note

We do not supply food on our courses, therefore you will need to make provision for yourself in this respect, we have a Kelly Kettle on permanent duty at fixed camp locations, so fresh Tea & Coffee is available all day and normally on tap, however, please bring adequate refreshments with you if directed to do so.

Please note that depending on the dynamics of the group, it may not be possible to cover all subject matter shown, but we will endeavour to accomplish as much as possible during our time together.  Please do not bring cutting tools with you unless advised otherwise. Our day courses are held on private land, but you will still be required to show respect and courtesy to other countryside users at all times.

All persons undertaking a course of any duration with Sussex Woodsman accept that for the duration of the course, he/she is required to submit to the reasonable instructions of the teaching staff. We operate a zero tolerance policy towards disorderly or abusive behaviour. Substance misuse will result in you being removed from the course with immediate effect, a pupil may be removed if we feel they have inadequate clothing or equipment or are incapable of meeting the demands of the course.
